About

Prayer fans and feathers are an integral part of life for indigenous cultures.

The Ancestors left precious teachings around feathers, their healing powers, and ability to move energy, connecting us with Father Sky and taking prayers up to the Creator.

Today the use of feathers for smudging and other purposes became popular outside indigenous cultures, however most people do not understand the spiritual power of those alliances.

Join Patrick Scott, Diné medicine man, as he talks about the traditions and protocols around the use of feathers according to Diné culture, the Native American Church, and Peyote ways of the US and Canada.

Patrick will talk about the main birds used in ceremony and the energy they each carry, what they are used for in the prayer ways.

Participants are welcome to send in questions they would like Patrick to cover regarding this subject by Wednesday, August 10th.

There will also be a Q&A at the end.

Registration: sliding scale options

The Patrick Scott foundation has been doing incredible work with the Diné community. For decades the White Mesa community has endured unmaintained waterholes, soil, and eroding roads. In addition to United States government regulation has resulting in community building neglect and homes in disrepair. Many resolutions have passed through the Tonalea Chapter to assist the community, but very little help is received. Therefore, many White Mesa community members have lost interest in getting help from the Navajo government. Patrick created the Patrick Scott foundation to rebuild the community of White Mesa. There are sliding scale options available for those who wish to give more. We thank you for your generosity and support!
