This captivating event promises an extraordinary evening filled with the mesmerizing sounds and rhythms inspired by the vibrant tapestry of the Amazon and the Ashaninka people.
As we honor the arrival of Raine Piyãko's remarkable album, we invite you to join us in embracing and championing the captivating music born from the heart of the Amazon.
Raine, his father Benki, and his cousin Piyanko are three Ashaninka leaders and musicians that have traveled all the way from the Amazon to share their wisdom and music with us.
Let us embrace the remarkable sounds that emerge from the Amazon, and together, as the Aniwa Community, let's create an evening filled with dancing, inspiration, and só alegria (only joy).
About this fundraiser:
We are holding a fundraiser to support the installation of a sustainable water system at Yorenka Tasorentsi. This system will integrate all the piping of the sustainable fishing ponds and septic tanks, preventing flooding and ensuring reliable access to clean water. By contributing to this cause, you can help us create a more sustainable and resilient community that prioritizes the health of Yorenka's ecosystem and the well-being of the Ashaninka people. This system will also ensure that clean drinking water will be abundant and plentiful for the community, which is essential for maintaining good health and well-being. Thank you for your support.
About Yorenka Tasorentsi:
Yorenka Tasorentsi is the dream-come-true of environmental activist and spiritual leader Benki Piyãko, the indigenous director at Aniwa's sister nonprofit, the Boa Foundation. It has continued the Ashaninka project of reforesting farmland even at the brink of urban spaces in the Amazon, capping a 2.5 million-tree reforestation effort. Planting on the three adjacent lands which have been acquired with the support of Boa, it uses ancient and current techniques of agroforestry to obtain the highest rate of biodiversity, with a consortium of hundreds of trees. Seeding change one seed at a time, the institute is equally an educational center and a place set part for people to reconnect with nature, spirituality, and a healthy life. The Institute presently hosts the Ayahuasca International Conference.
