The Shane Awihuhu Rayai including Kene Mani Maya, Vaná, Nawashahu, Runi, Awakuruany, and Paje Runi Shanenawa of the village of Morada Nova in Acre, Brazil shared their songs and prayers during this digital healing.
The Shane Awhihuhu Rayai carry the sacred knowledge of the sacred medicines of Sananga, Hapeh, and Uni and prepare those medicines for the village of Morada Nova. Runi Shanenawa, the medicinal Paje, and Maxi Shanenawa, the spiritual Paje of the village of Morada Nova lead this digital healing from the forest.

In addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to an unprecedented health crisis in the Amazon, many indigenous communities have been hit by heavy floods. These floods are leading to a devastating sanitary crisis resulting in the loss of housing structures, crops, and access to clean water and a rise in parasitic infections and mosquito-borne illnesses, such as Malaria and Dengue.
In late February, the village of Morada Nova as well as 5 other Shanenawa villages were heavily affected by the floods in the Amazon. Over 265 Shanenawa families have lost 70 housing structures and 65 plantations.
