The Wisdom of Feathers

In this course, Patrick Scott explores the sacredness of feathers, the wisdom and messages they carry, and the unique energies embodied by different birds. Drawing from Diné traditional stories, he shares the spiritual significance of feathers and their use for purification, personal cleansing, and clearing unwanted energy from the home.

Patrick also offers teachings on ceremonial fan design, including the creative process and spiritual journeys involved in making a fan, how these sacred objects should be respectfully exchanged, and how to properly clean and care for one's feathers. Through sacred stories and practical teachings, this course invites a deeper understanding of feathers as powerful vessels of connection, guidance, healing, and spirit.

We honor the sacred birds from whom these feathers come and strongly advise against acquiring feathers from any bird that has been harmed or killed for its feathers. If one is meant to receive a feather, it will come in the right way—found after being naturally shed or respectfully obtained from a bird sanctuary where it was collected without causing harm.
